Myth: Heart disease runs in my family, so there’s nothing I can do about it
Fact: Although women with a family history of heart disease are at higher risk, there’s plenty you can do to dramatically reduce it. Simply create an action plan to keep your heart healthy through regular heart screenings, heart healthy meal plans including low fat, low sodium, whole grains. Aim for a healthy body weight, regular exercise of at least 150 minutes per week, discontinuation of smoking and avoiding second hand smoking.
