My Dearest Patients,
It is with mixed emotions that I announce my retirement from the Women’s Group of Gwinnett on September 30, 2022. It seems impossible to express my gratitude to each of you for the memories, support and opportunity to be a part of your medical care. You came into my life and I am honored to know each of you. In selecting me as your medical care provider, you also allowed me to become a part of your families, sharing in some of the most special moments of your lives from graduations, marriages, promotions to becoming parents. I am still filled with joy each time I hear a baby cry, watch a patient graduate from school or listen to a parent share that their child has started a new job. I dearly treasure the pictures of the babies I have delivered and am humbled that you have allowed me to watch them grow into happy, healthy individuals.
One of the things I will miss most are my conversations with you. Our talks of trips, books, football and all things Harry Potter made our visits unique and special!!!
Whether it was the loss of a family member or the news of a devastating diagnosis, I watched so many brave women face the impossible. You have dealt with these hurdles with strength, dignity and openness. Thank you for entrusting me with those difficult moments and accepting my support which was sometimes as simple as a listening ear. It was a privilege and an honor to be by your side during those times and I need you to know that I never took your trust and confidence lightly.
I have long learned that medicine is so much more than just medication and procedures. It is about each one of us working together to provide the best care that we can in the best way that we can. You have all given so much of yourselves. Each and every one of you, your family members and friends should be so proud of yourselves. I am proud beyond words.
One of the highest compliments a medical provider can receive is to hear a patient say, “I would trust you to provide care to a member of my family.” Please know that I consider you a part of my family and I will miss you all tremendously. With my departure, you will remain in exceptional hands at the Women’s Group of Gwinnett. All of my partners, Drs. Falkner, Huynh, Iyoyo, Gordon and our newest physician, Dr. Keating, along with our entire medical staff, are phenomenal and will continue to provide you with the caring, supportive and excellent medical care that you have always received.
During this next phase of my journey, I don’t know exactly what’s coming but I do know that the wonderful experiences and memories of the past 15 years will be a tough act to follow. Prayerfully, my impact on your lives has been just as fulfilling as yours on mine.
The words “Thank You” are seemingly inadequate to express my sincere gratitude to you. But I once read that when those words come from the heart, in the quiet way of all things that are simple and sincere, perhaps once in a while they really can say it all. I hope this is one of those times.
